Wie schützt der Mensch sich vor sich selbst? (How can humans protect themselves from themselves?)

Content description
Residenztheater and LMU Munich enter the second season of their co-operation with the question »How do people protect themselves from themselves?«. Understanding science and theatre as a continuum of approaches to the world means researching on stage and discovering storytelling within the sciences.
In a time of crises which existentially threaten the conditions required for our collective survival, we must ask new questions about the nature of humanity. Is our species at all capable of behaving reasonably? Or are we damned to walk into disaster with our eyes open? Under the artistic direction of resident director Alexander Eisenach and Maximilian Grünewald, the Residenztheater ensemble and researchers from LMU will devise a series of events that asks what it means to be human when the possibility of self-destruction is omnipresent. Their search begins with the mythical origins of humanity and ends in the galactic utopias of science fiction.
