In her debut novel, ensemble member Lea Ruckpaul brings to life Nabokov’s character Dolores Haze from his scandalous novel »Lolita«, allowing her to survive and tell her story. With the classic »The Fire Raisers«, Max Frisch creates a political parable that critically illustrates how the exposure of a lie remains without consequence as long as no one wants to hear the truth. And as early as 1797, Ludwig Tieck, with »Puss in Boots«, shattered the boundaries between appearance and reality, stage and real life. Director Alexander Eisenach interprets the play as a satire on the staged realities and digital filter bubbles of our time.

With »The Threepenny Opera«, Brecht, Hauptmann and Weill created an entirely new form of musical theatre, featuring songs and lyrics as sharp and polished as Mac’s knife. Goethe’s drama »Faust I« portrays modern man as driven by a logic of constant escalation – caught between self-control, consumption and destruction. And in »King Lear«, you’ll see Munich’s favourite and exceptional actor Manfred Zapatka in one of William Shakespeare’s truly great title roles. It is a character study of an ageing, unpredictable patriarch and tyrant

»The Oppermanns« is the first German novel to depict the radically changing everyday life in Germany between November 1932 and the summer of 1933. Warrior of God, heretic, saint: »The Maid of Orleans« tells the story of Joan of Arc, who sacrifices herself to a vision to the point of self-abandonment. And in Suzie Miller’s play »Inter Alia«, the law as it stands is pitted against family dynamics.
