Shows with English Surtitels:

Due to the tightened Corona measures of the Free State of Bavaria and the cabinet decision of tuesday, november 23 2021, new regulations apply to events from wednesday, november 24 2021:

All performances in the Marstall are cancelled up to and including Wednesday 15 December 2021.
Seating capacity for cultural events is reduced to 25%. In addition, a minimum distance must be maintained. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to maintain a performance schedule in the Marstall.

Performances at the Residenztheater and Cuvilliéstheater will continue to take place as long as a 7-day incidence of 1,000 in Munich is not exceeded.

2G+ with mask and rapid antigen test.

2G+ (vaccinated or recovered plus mask and rapid antigen test) applies.
You can have a rapid test performed free of charge at the Theater-Testzentrum at Marstallplatz, for example, with prior registration: www.theater-tests.de.
Please show your vaccination or recovery certificate together with your identity card (or other photo document) and the negative rapid test at admission.

You must present a valid photo ID to attend the performance.

Due to the current high incidence of infection, the wearing of a mask is currently mandatory during the entire stay in the house. This also applies at the seat during the performance. It must be an FFP2 mask or a mask with an equivalent protection standard.

In order to guarantee a punctual start of the performance, we kindly ask you to arrive early.

We are pleased that your subscription calls can still take place. Our subscribers will be informed about the procedure in writing by e-mail or by telephone.

Since the venues may now only be used to a maximum of 25% capacity, new seating plans must be set up for all performances. We sincerely ask for your understanding that tickets already purchased will unfortunately have to be cancelled for this reason. Your tickets will be refunded automatically, you do not need to do anything else. The amount will be refunded automatically within the next few days. If you still want to attend the performance, please re-book your tickets.

Video installation by Jonas Alsleben and Thom Luz in the foyer of the Residenztheater

For the video installation ENSEMBLEPORTRAIT, video artist Jonas Alsleben and house director Thom Luz have developed over a hundred scenes, moments and atmospheres with all the actors of the house, which can be seen in the foyer of the Residenztheater. The film not only sets the scene for the ensemble and portrays them at close quarters, but also strings together in airy snatches of memories
sequences, moments of a role, beloved encounters, and attempts to create a daring, dreamlike arc.

This year's ensemble booklet was created from stills and close-ups taken from them.

Poster campaign 2021/2022

Andreas Beck, State Director of the Residenztheater, and Prof. Dr. Bernhart Schwenk, Head of Collection Contemporary Art Bavarian State Painting Collections/Pinakothek der Moderne, approached artists living and/or working in Munich to visualize the production-posters and program booklet titles for the new productions of the 2021/2022 season for the Munich Residenztheater.

So entstehen neue Allianzen.»
