Resi digital
RESI DIGITAL combines sensory experience with digital media.
During the 25/26 season the Belgian collective CREW will explore the question of presence in a digitised world with «Tremens». Social virtual reality (VR) does not replace the theatre but expands it – real and virtual spaces merge while the audience negotiates a particular route. The director Cosmea Spelleken («Nach Mitternacht») weaves together film, theatre and digital aesthetics to create new forms of storytelling. Michael Yates Crowley, the co-founder of the narrative-technological collective Wolf 359 from the USA, is an author who explores the connections between contemporary drama and Artificial Intelligence. This season he will visit Munich as a resident writer for the Residenztheater as part of WELT/BÜHNE.
RESI DIGITAL advocates theatre as a place of corporeality, encounters and reflection on our digitised reality – an increasingly rare and precious resonant space in which we can renegotiate our complex present, especially in a world saturated with new technologies.
