Content description
What happens when one of theatre’s most popular plays meets cutting-edge technology? In »Hamlet.AI«, the Wolf 359 collective explores how AI might transform theatre – and whether it should. In the piece, two theatre makers argue on stage: one wants to have the ghost in »Hamlet« played by AI, the other rejects the idea. The debate quickly becomes personal.
Wolf 359, founded by Michael Yates Crowley and Michael Rau, describes itself as a hybrid of a narrative technology company, a theatre group and a research lab. In 2025, the collective presented the one-person performance »Temping«. The text for »Hamlet.AI«, was further developed by Crowley during his writing residency in Munich.
