Odile Gakire Katese ist Künstlerische Leiterin der Compagnie Professional Dreamers, die Musik und Theater miteinander verbinden und weltweit touren. Sie hat sich in mehreren Stücken mit dem Genozid in Ruanda, der ihre Familie dazu zwang, in den Kongo zu fliehen, beschäftigt. Sie ist Gründerin der ersten weiblichen Trommelgruppe, des ersten internationalen Performing Arts Festivals und der ersten kooperativen Eisdiele in Ruanda.

Im Januar 2026 sprach Katese beim Festakt zum 75-jährigen Jubiläum des Neuen Residenztheaters.

Odile Gakire Katese is Artistic Director of the Professional Dreamers company, which combines music and theater and tours worldwide. She has written several plays dealing with the genocide in Rwanda that forced her family to flee to Congo. She is the founder of the first female drumming group, the first international performing arts festival, and the first cooperative ice cream parlor in Rwanda.

In January 2026, Katese spoke at the ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the Neues Residenztheater.
