Adania Shibli (Palästina, 1974) hat Romane, Theaterstücke, Kurzgeschichten und Essays geschrieben. Shibli wurde zweimal mit dem Qattan Young Writer's Award-Palestine ausgezeichnet, 2001 für ihren Roman Masaas und 2003 für ihren Roman Kulluna Ba'id bethat al Miqdar aan el-Hub. Ihr jüngster Roman ist Tafsil Thanawi (Beirut: Al-Adab, 2017); seine englische Übersetzung Minor Detail (Fitzcarraldo Edition/UK, & New Directions/USA, 2020) wurde für den National Book Award 2020 und den International Booker Prize 2021 nominiert. Der Roman ist auf Deutsch unter dem Titel Eine Nebensache im Berenberg Verlag in der Übersetzung von Günther Orth erschienen. Shibli ist auch in der akademischen Forschung und Lehre tätig.
