Matthias Rippert
Matthias Rippert wurde 1988 in Heidelberg geboren. Er studierte Physik an der LMU in München und Regie am Max Reinhardt Seminar in Wien. Mit seinen Inszenierungen im Rahmen des Studiums war er auf zahlreichen Festivals eingeladen, unter anderem am Körber Studio Junge Regie in Hamburg. Seine Inszenierung «Maggie T. » von Nolte Decar gewann beim 25. Theatertreffen der Schauspielschulen in München 2014 den Förderpreis des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung Deutschland und den Publikumspreis. Weitere Arbeiten inszenierte er am Münchner Residenztheater, am Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz, am Deutschen Theater in Berlin, am Landestheater Niederösterreich, am Saarländischen Staatstheater, am Theater St. Gallen, am Staatstheater Darmstadt, am Staatstheater Braunschweig, an der Oper Graz und am Wiener Burgtheater.
Am Schauspiel Hannover inszenierte Matthias Rippert 2019 «Nackt über Berlin» von Axel Ranisch, wofür er in der Kritiker:innenumfrage von TheaterHeute als bester Nachwuchs-Regisseur nominiert wurde. 2022 wurde seine Hannoveraner Inszenierung von «Monte Rosa» von Teresa Dopler zu den Mülheimer Theatertagen und zu den Autor*innentheatertagen ans Deutsche Theater Berlin eingeladen. Für seine Inszenierungen von «Bunbury» von Oscar Wilde und «Die Abenteuer des braven Soldaten Schwejk» von Jaroslav Hašek am Landestheater Linz wurde er 2019 und 2022 für den Nestroy-Theaterpreis nominiert.
In der Spielzeit 2024/2025 inszeniert er am Residenztheater «Blind» von Lot Vekemans.

One last day in Paris, the final hours of a great love affair and the certainty that nothing will ever be the same again. In «Abschied (Parting)», Sebastian Haffner recounts his last encounter with his beloved Teddy. Between cafés, museum visits, fleeting encounters and intense conversations, the carefree attitude to life of the early 1930s becomes increasingly apparent. The novel accompanies the two through hours of closeness, doubt and hope until the moment on the platform that irrevocably separates them. Poetic, atmospherically dense and very personal, Sebastian Haffner describes not only the end of a great love, but also the farewell to his own youth and an era shortly before its demise. Haffner needed only a few weeks in 1932 to write this novel, which until recently had remained unpublished. Director Matthias Rippert is now bringing the material to the stage for the first time, continuing his work at the Residenztheater after the success of «Blind».
Abschied (Parting)
Successful playwright Lot Vekemans hits the nerve of the times with her new play. With great sensitivity, she tells the story of a father and daughter, played by Manfred Zapatka and Juliane Köhler, who have seemingly irreconcilable attitudes to social and political issues, and asks how these conflicts can be overcome.
