Dorota Nawrot
Dorota Nawrot (geb. 1985) ist Bühnen- und Kostümbildnerin sowie Lichtdesignerin. Sie arbeitet regelmäßig mit renommierten Regisseur*innen und Theaterhäusern im In- und Ausland zusammen. Eine langjährige künstlerische Zusammenarbeit verbindet sie mit Michał Borczuch, für dessen Inszenierungen sie zahlreiche Ausstattungen und Lichtkonzepte entwickelte, darunter Produktionen an Theatern in Krakau, Warschau, Bydgoszcz, Ljubljana und Basel. Darüber hinaus arbeitete sie mit Olga Ciężkowska, Michał Buszewicz, Jan Jeliński, Tomasz Węgorzewski und Michał Kotański zusammen und war an zahlreichen Produktionen in Wałbrzych, Opole, Szczecin, Kielce, Gniezno, Kalisz, Bydgoszcz und Warschau beteiligt.
Neben ihrer Theaterarbeit entwarf sie Bühnenbild und Kostüme für mehrere Filmproduktionen, darunter «Split the Mind» (Regie: Anna Bernacik), «Before After» (Regie: Filip Bojarski), «Komodo Dragons» (Regie: Michał Borczuch) und «Constellations» (Regie: Aniela Gabryel).
Für ihre herausragenden Leistungen im Bereich Bühnenbild wurde sie 2025 mit dem Leon Schiller Award ausgezeichnet.
Performing in
Freddie Mercury, front man of the legendary British rock band Queen, spent a lot of time in Munich from 1979 to 1985. He lived in several apartments here, forged close friendships and recorded his first solo album. What drew him to the Isar? Love, the wild nightlife and the many meeting points of the city’s gay community? The Musicland Studios of Giorgio Moroder and their pioneering innovations in electronic music? Or did he simply want to avoid the rigid British tax laws?
