FX Mayr
Born in 1986 in Hallein (Austria), he studied Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen and Directing at the Zurich University of the Arts. His work includes productions for the Deutsches Theater Berlin, Theater Basel, Gmundner Festwochen, Schauspielhaus Graz, Heidelberger Stückemarkt, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theater Drachengasse, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Autor:innentheatertage, Landestheater Niederösterreich, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Burgtheater Wien, Dramatiker:innenfestival Graz, Theater Heidelberg, Theater Luzern, Schauspielhaus Wien, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Museum Brandhorst, Kunsthaus Graz and WDR.
In the 2024/2025 season he directed «Und oder oder oder oder und und beziehungsweise und oder beziehungsweise oder und beziehungsweise einfach und» by Nele Stuhler at the Residenztheater. «Zum Sterben schön» by Kerstin Specht is his second production at the Residenztheater.

In this highly personal play, Munich author Kerstin Specht finds poetic and surreal images for the way in which life is interrupted by a cancer diagnosis. The central character Lisa Pisa finds herself rapidly overtaken not only by treatment plans and passers by, but also by her fellow patient, a certain Herr Jandl who would like to mean rather more to her.
