Birutė Kapustinskaitė

Birutė Kapustinskaitė, born in Lithuania in 1989, writes for cinema and theater. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in screenwriting. Author has gained international attention and recognition with her debut «Terpijos» (Therapies). In 2018, «Terpijos» was awarded the most prestigious Lithuanian theater prize, the Golden Stage Cross. The play was translated to seven languages. In 2019, the play was staged by Onsoo Lee at the Dream Theatre in Seoul, South Korea. She presents her work internationally at various festivals and workshops, has written five feature movie scripts and seven theatre plays. Author has directed two short films “Mothers” (2021) and “The Nominees” (2024). She received the best screenplay award at the Aubagne Film Festival for the feature film «Sasha Was Here.» Kapustinskaite leads a screenwriting course at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
